Records on hydrogen storage in the amendment to the geological and mining law

  • Reading time:1 mins read

The draft amendment to the geological and mining law, which has just been sent for public consultations and arrangements, introduces regulations regarding the containerless storage of substances, including hydrogen, for the planned Polish hydrogen strategy.

As it was written in the justification, preferential solutions have been introduced with regard to fees for providing storage space, and the expected fee rate is PLN 0.00 / thousand. m3. This solution is to encourage entrepreneurs to start business in this area. In addition, underground non-reservoir hydrogen storage was considered a public purpose investment, as was the case for underground non-reservoir hydrocarbon storage.

Consultations on new entries will last 21 days.
