Zyska: the last months could be better used to build up those powers that are still installable

During the Areopagus for Renewable Energy 2021 conference, organized by Stowarzyszenie na Rzecz Efektywności im. prof. Krzysztof Żmijewski, Secretary of State, Government Plenipotentiary for Renewable Energy Sources, Ireneusz Zyska admitted that he is not entirely satisfied because – as he claims – it was possible to use the last months better to build the capacities that are still possible to install.

The deputy minister believes that several areas may have been launched earlier. As he said, “the last few months have been difficult, because they have been marked by the coronavirus pandemic, but there has been no liberalization of the 10-hour rule in onshore wind energy, where there is public acceptance for it. Here it was possible to take a step forward to build those still installable powers”.

The deputy head of the climate ministry also drew attention to the situation of energy prices. As he noted, “onshore wind energy is the cheapest today and, translating it into differential contracts under offshore wind energy, it is not working yet”.
