According to the President of the Energy Regulatory Office, Rafał Gawin, the ERO is talking with the Ministry of Climate and Environment about the possibility of conducting an additional auction for the sale of energy from renewable sources this year. The need for dialogue with the ministry results from the fact that the entities concerned must consider whether another auction is needed and what the procedure would be.
According to the President of the Energy Regulatory Office, another auction is possible, and one of the solutions that may be used by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage is the so-called intervention auction. As he pointed out, the announcement of this auction by the ministries will give much more freedom, as it will be possible to define the auction baskets.
President Gawin believes that it is possible for the auction to be held before the end of the year, but he cannot declare that it will definitely take place. He also added that any form of auction is possible, as there is still some time, but such a decision must be taken soon.
