On Tuesday, April 13, Senate committees supported the bill, thanks to which municipalities will receive compensation for income lost in 2018 by introducing changes to the taxation of structures included in wind farms.

The bill came on the initiative of the Senate. In the first reading, the Budget and Public Finance, Local Government and State Administration Committees and the Legislative Committee introduced a number of substantive and editorial and legislative amendments to it.

The Senate’s bill provides for a one-off compensation that will be paid from the state budget. The amount estimated by the Senate is about PLN 600 million, while the government has calculated that it will be about PLN 280 million – the difference in the sums is due to the fact that the government takes into account only half of 2018, i.e. the period when the retroactive provisions were repealed .

The act would enter into force on February 5, 2022. Communes will have 3 months to submit relevant applications and an additional 14 days for their possible correction.
