On Thursday, March 9, 2023, the Sejm adopted a parliamentary bill amending the local referendum act (Sejm Paper No. 1768). It assumes i.a. lowering the turnout threshold from 30 to 15 percent and halving the number of citizens needed to initiate a referendum.
The draft amendment to the local referendum act by Kukiz’15 deputies was submitted to the Sejm – along with the signatures of PiS deputies – on October 29, 2021.
