Ireneusz Zyska, Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment, replied to a parliamentary question. According to the deputy minister’s words, at the inter-ministerial level, the possibilities of amending the RES Act in the field of the prosumer system are analyzed and they concern the modification and extension of the current model.
“(…) At the interministerial level, the possibilities of amending the Act of February 20, 2015 on renewable energy sources (Journal of Laws of 2021, item 610) in the scope of the prosumer system are being analyzed, which assume modification and extension of the current model, as well as introducing changes to the regulations in force, in relation to which interpretation doubts have been identified by market participants ”.
The deputy minister also added that taking into account the dynamic increase in the number of micro-installations in Poland, it is also important to ensure the safe operation of distribution networks, for which the characteristics of the operation of many distributed photovoltaic sources may pose a threat requiring appropriate solutions that will relieve the power grid in a non-discriminatory manner for system participants. during the periods of the highest production of energy from PV sources.
When the analytical and conceptual work is completed and the final proposal to modify the prosumer model is developed, the solutions will be subject to public consultations and opinionated by key market participants.
