PSE is preparing an energy highway from the north to the south of Poland

Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne in the coming decade has assumed that the most important investment in the national transmission system will be the construction of high voltage direct current (HVDC) lines, which will connect northern and southern Poland, and which will allow, among other things, to send energy generated by offshore wind farms to the south of the country. Why should HVDC technology be used for this?

Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne, responsible for the maintenance and development of the national power system, has presented an investment plan for 2022-32. PSE emphasizes that the planned investments are largely related to the planned development of generation sources based on renewable energy.
