Amendment on financing the IPA platform from RES fee

At the meeting of the Sejm Public Finance Committee, which was held on June 3 this year, while considering amendments proposed as part of the second reading of the draft Act on interest rate subsidies for bank loans granted to provide financial liquidity to entrepreneurs affected by the effects of COVID-19 and on the amendment of some other acts, the deputies positively they expressed an opinion on the amendment according to which the costs of maintaining, developing and modifying the online auction platform determined by the President of the Energy Regulatory Office will be covered by the operator of renewable energy settlements from renewable energy sources fee.

In the justification, the Government Plenipotentiary for Renewable Energy Ireneusz Zyska pointed out that the above solution is consistent with Regulation (EU) 2019/943 of the European Parliament and of the Council of June 5, 2019 on the internal electricity market, according to which the financing of the IT tool for the auction RES should be implemented from non-budgetary resources.
