May 4 this year The Sejm adopted the government draft act on the ratification of the Council Decision (EU, Euratom) 2020/2053 of 14 December 2020 on the system of own resources of the European Union and repealing Decision 2014/335 / EU, Euratom. Thanks to this, the EU Reconstruction Plan after COVID-19 will be launched, the value of which will amount to approximately EUR 750 billion. It is the basis for paying Poland money from the European Reconstruction Fund to support EU countries after the crisis caused by the coronavirus epidemic, and to provide the basis for a more modern and sustainable Europe.
The KPO will be the basis for the implementation of the EU Instrument for Reconstruction and Strengthening of Resilience. Poland will be able to use EUR 28.6 billion in the form of non-returnable subsidies, as well as EUR 34.2 billion in the form of low-interest loans from all the Fund’s instruments.
Component B “Green energy and reduction of energy intensity” amounts to EUR 14.3 billion. Its main goal is to “reduce the negative impact of the economy on the environment while ensuring the country’s competitiveness and energy and ecological security”.
