The Minister of the Environment, Henryk Kowalczyk, declared that the Ministry recognises the potential of thermal waste processing installations in municipal management and envisages the development of these installations within the limit of 30% of the total waste stream management envisaged in the National Waste Management Plan.
The Minister announced that in the coming months, the installations formally listed as intended for implementation will be extinguished, blocking the possibility of creating new installations. At the same time, actions will be taken aimed at more reliable mapping of waste management in the country, such as, among others, implementation of the central system of records – Waste Databases – which is to be launched at the beginning of 2020.
