The Energy Regulatory Office has announced an auction for new and significantly modernized cogeneration units with a capacity of 1 to 50 MW. According to the information they provided, the auction will last 3 days – from December 10 to December 14 – and will be conducted in writing, on paper. Each of the investors may submit more than one offer, as long as they concern different cogeneration units.
The auction will be won by the participants who offer the lowest amount of the cogeneration bonus (i.e. the surcharge to the electricity sold from high-efficiency cogeneration) and whose bids in total do not exceed 100% of the value or amount of electricity specified in the auction announcement and 80% of the amount of electricity covered by all submitted bids . This time, the maximum amount of electricity from high-efficiency cogeneration, the sale of which may be covered by the cogeneration bonus, is 14.3 TWh, and its value is nearly PLN 2.8 billion.
Additionally, on the same days there will be recruitment for an individual cogeneration bonus for cogeneration units with an installed electric capacity of 50 MW or more.
