According to the gramwzielone.pl, the Ministry of Climate has developed new solutions to remove legal barriers to investments in electricity storage facilities, which were included in the draft act amending the Energy Law.
The information obtained by the portal at the Ministry of Climate shows that the draft act provides, inter alia, introducing a new definition of electricity storage and storage, complete exemption from the obligation to have an energy storage tariff or will eliminate double charging of network charges. Tariffs for electricity in settlements with warehouses for the services provided “are to ensure a deduction from the energy consumed by the warehouse from the grid of an energy company, electricity introduced to the grid of this company from this warehouse, based on the indications of measurement and billing systems“.
Moreover, the Ministry of Climate proposes making the obligation to obtain a license or entry in the register conditional on the total installed capacity of an electricity storage facility, regardless of its capacity. In this, the obligation to enter in the register kept by the distribution or transmission system operator is to apply to a warehouse with a total installed capacity greater than 50 kW.
The obligation to obtain a license is to apply to warehouses with a total installed capacity of more than 10 MW.
