In 2018 Germany launched photovoltaic systems with a capacity of 2,96GW, i. e. 1,2GW more than in 2017, thus returning to the position of European leader in investments in PV.
The potential of PV power plants registered only in the first two months of this year was almost 1GW.
The photovoltaic systems registered in February this year generate a total capacity of 418,6MW, of which 386,8MW are smaller installations outside the auction system, which includes PV power plants with a unit capacity of more than 750 kW. The registered capacity of installations launched in the auction system was 28 MW.
At the end of February this year, the total photovoltaic potential in Germany increased to 46,9GW.
The share of photovoltaics in the German energy mix increased to 7,3% in 2018.
