In 2018, a record number of microinstallations and larger renewable energy sources were connected to the PGE grid. Almost all of the new power is photovoltaics.
Each year the number of connected installations increases significantly. In a comparison of two years (2018 to 2017), the number of microinstallations increased by more than 8 thousand.
The largest number of sources were connected last year using photovoltaic technology, to which three power plants – wind, biogas and hydroelectric power plants – were added.
At the end of December 2018 PGE Dystrybucja became the owner of contracts for the connection of 685 photovoltaic installations for a total capacity of 601.96 MW, four biomass power plants with a capacity of 12. 57 MW, three hydro power plants (0.82 MW), 89 wind farms (767.72 MW) and 50 biogas plants (44.85 MW).
