Heavily outdated meteorological data is a significant barrier to the development of energy-efficient buildings. For this reason, industry organizations PORT PC and SPIUG together with KAN sp.z o.o. initiated the update of data on a typical meteorological year in Poland.
The Polish Organization for the Development of Heat Pump Technology (PORT PC) emphasizes that the available meteorological information, which has been collected on the basis of meteorological conditions occurring in the last decade, may overstate the calculated (design) heat consumption for heating buildings by about 15%, causing many negative consequences of the use of energy performance certificates, e.g. by overstating the EP, EU, EK indicators for heating buildings.
