Minister of Enterprise and Technology Jadwiga Emilewicz, during a meeting with the Polish Press Agency, informed about upcoming changes. Thanks to the amendment of the RES Act, not only natural persons, but also small and large enterprises, as well as local government units may become prosumets.
Authorisation, network connection and installation procedures will be simplified. The waiting time for procedures to be initiated is to be reduced to sixty days.
The process of obtaining information by the future prosumer and dealing with all formalities is to be significantly improved, namely it will be possible to deal with everything in one place. For this purpose, conversations with distributors who decide to connect to the network will start.
Emilewicz pointed out the need for financial support for prosumers, so it will be possible to obtain a preferential loan, which can be repaid by selling the surplus energy produced. A new possibility will be to lease the equipment.
The amendment to the RES Act may limit the possible increase in electricity prices and increase the possibility of faster development of alternative energy sources.
