Despite the epidemic restrictions in the last weeks of March, the operator of the distribution network PGE Dystrybucja connected the largest number of solar photovoltaic installations on a quarterly basis in the first quarter of 2020. The company ensures that currently connections of subsequent micro-installations are carried out without delay.
In the first quarter of 2020, 17,654 micro-installations with a total capacity of 135.031 MW appeared in the PGE Dystrybucja network. Including only three micro-installations with a total power of 33.1 kW were made in a technology other than photovoltaic. Out of 17,651 photovoltaic micro installations, five with a total capacity of 158 kW were connected on the basis of a contract – the others were implemented in the notification mode.
The result of connecting micro-installations in this operator’s network for the first quarter of this year is even better than the volume of connected micro-installations in the previous record quarter when PGE Dystrybucja connected 17,091 micro-installations with a total capacity of 105.99 MW to the network.
The comparison of the result of connecting microinstallations from the first quarter of 2020 with the result from the same quarter of 2019 shows how much progress in investments in the micro-installations segment has been made over the past year.
In the first quarter of last year, PGE Dystrybucja only connected less than 4.8 thousand. micro-installations with a total capacity of 28.83 MW. In the second quarter, 7.1 thousand micro-installations with a power of 45.02 MW, and in the third almost 12 thousand for a total capacity of 74.58 MW. In the whole of 2019, almost 50 thousand of them appeared in the network of this operator. micro-installations with a total capacity of 254.4 MW. In total, at the end of last year, 57 thousand people worked in the PGE Dystrybucja network. micro-installations with a capacity of approximately 330 MW.
In addition, in the first quarter of 2020, 71 renewable energy sources with a unit capacity of over 50 kW appeared in the PGE Dystrybucja network, and thus not included in micro-installations. These were 64 solar farms with a total capacity of 48.26 MW, four wind farms with a capacity of 11.6 MW and three biogas plants with a capacity of 4.45 MW.
