Minister of the Environment Henryk Kowalczyk during the conference inaugurating the 3rd edition of the Norwegian and EEA Funds in Poland announced that at the turn of 2019 and 2020 the implementation of the “Environment, Energy and Climate Change” program will begin.
“The amount of EUR 164 million, including EUR 140 million from EEA funds, will be allocated primarily to support activities in the field of combating climate change; improvement of air quality by developing local heating and cogeneration systems, as well as thermomodernization of schools” – he said.
“The funds will also be allocated to increasing the production of energy from renewable sources; protection of nature, including preventing the spread of invasive alien species, and to support pilot projects in the field of circular economy and energy use of biomass” – he added.
