Due to the amendment to the act on renewable energy sources, a new, temporary definition of energy wood has been in force since Thursday. The new law is to guarantee the management of wood that was not sold by the State Forests due to the coronavirus pandemic. According to the calculations of the Ministry of Environment, it is over 2 million cubic meters of wood.
According to the amendment, energy wood is, for example, wood that is not sawmill and cut wood, which are logs, sawmill and cut logs, by-products resulting from the processing of wood raw material, etc.
The regulations will apply from October 1 this year to December 31, 2021.
