The Supreme Audit Office assessed the activities of the President of the ERO regarding the identification and lifting of restrictions on the development of RES for the period from the beginning of 2017 to June 30, 2020. According to the report, the regulator complied with the obligations set out in the RES Act and effectively carried out its tasks by enabling electricity producers to from RES using support systems. The President of the Energy Regulatory Office diligently exercised control over the fulfillment of the information and reporting obligations by these entities, and imposed and enforced financial penalties provided for in the RES Act on entities that did not do so.
The report of the Supreme Audit Office shows that the regulator identified barriers to the development of renewable energy sources and regularly indicated them in reports prepared every two years and addressed to the minister for energy, which presented and assessed the conditions for starting and conducting economic activity in the field of electricity generation, transmission or distribution.
The Supreme Audit Office positively assessed the activities of ERO in the controlled areas. As a result of the control activities concerning the purpose and scope of the control, no irregularities were detected and thus the Supreme Audit Office did not formulate post-control comments and conclusions for the Office.
