According to the government’s predictions (with the help of the Energy Market Agency), the total power of photovoltaic panels in Poland was to reach 2 MW at the end of this year. Meanwhile, the latest data shows that we have just crossed another border – 3 GW. At the end of September, the total capacity of photovoltaic power plants in Poland was 3.1 GW.
Maintaining this year’s growth rate (on average approx. 8% m / m), the photovoltaic capacity would be close to 10 GW (9,600 MW) already next year, but a slower growth scenario is a more likely scenario. If the cooling rate is 0.5% m / m, then by the end of 2021 the total capacity of the photovoltaic plants will reach 6 GW. This possibility is supported by the contracted capacity and to be contracted in RES auctions. This may also be influenced by the end of the “My Electricity” program on December 18 this year and the situation related to the coronavirus.
