On 5 June during the 1st Congress of Cogeneration, Minister of Energy Krzysztof Tchórzewski informed about the ongoing works on the heat engineering strategy, which is to become an executive document for the Energy Policy of Poland until 2040 (PEP 2040). The preparation of this document is scheduled for the end of this year.
According to the information provided on the website of the Ministry of Energy, these activities are of great importance for the construction of new cogeneration units and the development of energy-efficient district heating systems. They will not only contribute to the improvement of air quality by reducing smog and low emissions, but will also significantly affect the security of electricity supply to the national power system and heat supply to consumers connected to district heating systems.
