EU Energy Commissioner Kadri Simson announced that in the coming months, the European Commission’s energy and environment departments, which are EU regulatory bodies, will work together on a strategy that will focus on issues related to the coexistence of wind farms with shipping and fisheries, spatial planning and financing development of the network necessary for the implementation of projects.
One of the goals of this strategy is to enable the finalization of projects for large wind farms by developing a way to support network investments as part of projects located in regions where the transmission infrastructure is underdeveloped.
