Minister Tchórzewski literally pointed out that none of the PEP2040 projects contains any declarations or formulations concerning the wind energy sector decommissioning. The renewable energy sector, in the opinion of the Ministry of Energy, will develop within the next few years in accordance with the adopted development plan contained in the government document, which is the National Renewable Energy Action Plan (NAP), which assumes that in 2020 this sector should reach at least 15% of the share of energy from renewable sources in the national energy consumption in 2020.
In 2019, another amendment to the Act on Renewable Energy Sources is planned, which will allow for an auction to be held for the purchase of electricity from RES in 2019. This will allow for a capacity increase of 3414 MW, including 2500 MW in wind power and 700 MW in photovoltaic, while the remaining capacity increase will consist of biogas, biomass and hydroelectric power plants. – explained the Minister of Energy in a document.
Currently, the Ministry of Energy is working on the concept of legal assumptions for the development of offshore wind energy. The change of regulations in the area of energy law regulations should introduce new systemic solutions in the area of RES investments in the Baltic Sea and allow for the development of the offshore wind energy sector in Poland. The draft Act on Offshore Wind Energy should allow for the creation of a systemically formed offshore wind energy sector in Poland.
