A few months ago, the European Investment Bank approved a financing programme under which it can lend funds for the construction of photovoltaic farms to be built in 2018-2022 in Poland, allocating a budget of PLN 450 million for this purpose.

The European Investment Bank is interested in financing investments carried out in the so-called project finance system.

In addition, the European Investment Bank will be interested in larger projects consisting of installations with a total capacity of about 35-50 MW, which will result from the financing of projects in the project finance system and the analysis of economic accounts. The Polish support system promotes the construction of smaller photovoltaic farms with a unit capacity of up to 1 MW.

The Bank ensures that it is in a position to offer a competitive cost of capital, enabling the loan to be repaid over the same period as the support period in the auction system, i. e. 15 years from the date of completion of the construction, to be decided on an individual basis, after a full analysis of the project, including, for example, the target financing structure and technical aspects of the PV installation.
