Minister of Energy Krzysztof Tchórzewski, on 13 May 2019 at the European Economic Congress in Katowice, pointed primarily to good prospects for the planned auctions for RES for this year, thanks to which the government plans to lead to the creation of 3,5 GW of new renewable capacities.
Discussions are underway on the 21% RES target for 2030 proposed in the PEP project. Thanks to technological progress and greater efficiency, the increase in energy consumption will be lower than originally assumed in the PEP project.
The PEP project is already after public consultations, the Ministry of Energy is working on its comments and intends to present the document to the Council of Ministers in the middle of the year.
