Consultation of the draft grid development plan for 2021-2030

According to the provisions of art. 16 clause 2 of the Energy Law of April 10, 1997, the transmission system operator prepares a development plan to meet current and future electricity demand for a period of 10 years. This plan is subject to updates at least every 3 years.

According to the published draft plan, expenditure on the development of the power grid in 2021-2030 will amount to PLN 14.04 billion.

As at December 2, 2019, Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne has concluded contracts for connection of new generating units with a total capacity of 14,774.975 MW, including 10.057 MW for conventional generating units and 4,717.975 MW renewable energy units.

The net electricity demand in 2020 is expected to be 159.9 TWh, in 2025 to 170.1 TWh, in 2030 to 181.1 TWh, and in 2040 to 204.2 TWh.

The deadline for submitting comments was set for December 30, 2019.
