The installed capacity of photovoltaic power plants in Poland is constantly growing and is currently approaching 9 GW. This trend, combined with the growing insolation from spring, makes the domestic solar farm break new records. Yesterday, for the first time, the generation of photovoltaics in Poland exceeded 5 GW. PV power plants also recorded a record for production last month.
The latest report by the Energy Market Agency (ARE) shows that the capacity of photovoltaic power plants in Poland at the end of February increased to 8,768.1 MW and was more than twice as high as at the end of February last year (4,244.0 MW).
The result from the end of February means a large increase in installed capacity on a monthly basis. At the end of January this year, the power of PV power plants in the country, according to ARE, totaled 8146.5 MW. Thus, only in February, the installed capacity of photovoltaic systems in Poland increased by 621.6 MW. In turn, in January, the PV capacity increased by 476.5 MW. This means that only in the first 2 months of this year, the photovoltaic capacity recorded by ARE increased by almost 1.1 GW.
