On October 6, a meeting was held to inaugurate the work of the team to develop the “CHARTER FOR THE EFFECTIVE TRANSFORMATION OF POLISH ENERGY DISTRIBUTION NETWORKS”, that is, the Social Agreement of the Sector Regulatory and the Distribution Industry. The host of the meeting was Rafał Gawin, President of the Energy Regulatory Office.
The team was established due to the changes that are currently taking place on the Polish energy market in connection with PEP2040 and the “National Reconstruction Plan”. Modernization and restructuring activities related to this process will affect the day-to-day operation and financial costs, and the responsibility of the President of the ERO is to continue the transparent and predictable regulation.
The team invited representatives of key ministries (minister of climate and environment, minister of funds and regional policy, minister of state assets, minister of development and technology, government plenipotentiary for strategic energy infrastructure), the largest operators of distribution systems associated in the Polish Society of Transmission and Distribution of Electricity , small distribution system operators associated in the Polish Association of Independent Electricity Distributors, Polish Electricity Networks, a sector regulator and independent market experts.
According to the schedule, the team should complete the work by the first half of 2022, so that the agreed solutions can be included in the decisions on financing investments in the sector for 2023.
