In an interview he gave, Deputy Minister of Climate Ireneusz Zyska informed that in 2023 we may already have about 2 million prosumers on the market. As the deputy minister stated, such a large number of prosumers who will not have an active and positive impact on the flexibility of the power system for the next 15 years is unfavorable for the energy transformation. Zyska expressed his concern that the power system would not be able to accept such a multitude of prosumers who settle their accounts under the current rules and that it would not be technically possible to connect all of them to the grid.
In response to the question regarding the new operation of the discount system, the deputy minister announced that the new regulations were needed and were thought out and based on analyzes and agreements with PSE and DSO. Gain reassures that in the case of the current prosumers and those who will become prosumers until the new regulations enter into force, nothing will change, and this group will have a guaranteed discount system for 15 years from the date of the first introduction of energy produced by a prosumer to the grid. However, it will be possible to switch to the new billing system voluntarily.
