The service ports needed for the wind farms planned by PKN Orlen “Baltic Power” will be built in Łeba and Ustka, while the installation port will be located in Gdynia. These investments are included in the National Reconstruction Plan.
The choice of Łeba resulted from the location of the port. The city is close to the planned installations, thanks to which it will be possible to react faster to any problems. In addition, Łeba will provide appropriate access parameters to the port and in port channels in order to be able to service service units. According to the information provided by the local mayor, one of the wind farm operators has already purchased a plot of land after the former shipyard in Łeba in order to start a service base there.
EUR 437 million from the National Reconstruction Plan will be allocated to the construction of port terminals for servicing offshore wind energy. The ports in Łeba and Ustka are to be built by 2026.
