According to the President of the Energy Regulatory Office, Rafał Gawin, URE expects a very high interest in RES auctions scheduled for May and June this year.
According to the President of the Energy Regulatory Office, it is difficult to speculate on the results of the auction. The Office expects a very high interest, which results, for example, from the pre-qualification for previous auctions, especially installations that did not win the auction.
President Gawin noted that in the previous auctions there was a lot of competition between wind and solar PV installations, including price. Today, there are fewer wind installations on the market, new projects are not appearing dynamically, which, in a way, results from the applicable regulations, which is why ERO expects that there will be more offers on the side of photovoltaic installations.
Auctions for the sale of electricity from RES will be held from May 26 to June 11 this year. Eight auctions are planned, including seven for new installations. The auction for large wind and solar PV installations will take place on June 8, and for small wind and solar PV installations on June 11.
Eight RES auctions were held in 2020. They contracted nearly 54.5 TWh of capacity for over PLN 12.9 billion.
