Jak According to the Central Statistical Office, the share of energy from renewable sources in gross final energy consumption increased by 0.7% annually, i.e. to 12.18%. Almost two-thirds of the energy obtained in 2019 from renewable sources came from solid biofuels, and it was just over 65.56%. On the other hand, wind generated 13.72%, and liquid biofuels – 10.36%.
As for electricity, the increase in the share of energy from renewable sources in the gross final energy consumption in the power sector increased by 1.31% compared to 2018. The Central Statistical Office indicated that the factor that contributed to the increase in this indicator was the increase in the final consumption of renewable energy gross electricity consumption by 9.52% while reducing gross final electricity consumption by 0.81%.
The share of energy from renewable sources in the gross final energy consumption in heating and cooling increased by 0.84% compared to 2018 and amounted to 15.98%. According to the Central Statistical Office, the factors that contributed to the increase in this indicator were: an increase in final consumption of renewable energy for heating and cooling and a decrease in total gross final energy consumption for heating and cooling.
In terms of transport, the share of renewables in final energy consumption was 6.12%, an increase of 0.46% year on year. The factors that contributed to the increase in this indicator were: an increase in the consumption of renewable energy in transport and a less significant overall increase in energy consumption in transport.
