During the plenary session of the United Nations, China, which emits the most CO2 in the world, pledged to achieve climate neutrality by 2060. They are expected to reach peak emissions around 2030, and then only decrease. The state has also committed to increasing the share of energy from non-fossil fuels to 20% in its energy mix by the end of the next decade, giving priority to low-carbon energy sources in access to the grid and introducing stricter exhaust gas standards for car transport.
In addition, China has decided to almost completely reduce its carbon dioxide emissions, and in addition is considering the remaining reduction of other emissions, e.g. by using CCS technology.
