After a systematic increase in the prices of green certificates listed on the Polish Power Exchange last year to over 150 PLN/MWh at the end of 2018, in the first three months of 2019 the certificates were systematically cheap, going down in March below 90 PLN/MWh.
The situation changed at the end of March, when the Ministry of Energy withdrew from the amendment to the RES Act proposed in the draft, which was unfavourable to renewable energy producers, by changing the method of calculating the substitution fee. As a result, the prices of certificates in session quotations increased by approximately PLN 50 per MWh in a short period of time.
The volume of trading in green certificates in April was 2,706,190 MWh, 1/4 higher than in April last year and almost 1/2 higher than in March this year.
