ERO: renewable energy rate for next year unchanged

  • Reading time:2 mins read

The Energy Regulatory Office has published a communiqué in which it informs that in 2020 the RES rate will remain at zero.

The RES fee was introduced by the amendment to the Act on renewable energy sources from 2015 and was added to the bills in July 2016 in the amount of PLN 2.51 per MWh.

Several factors influenced the calculation of the rate and its amount in 2020. First of all, it should be noted that the production of energy in the auction system and the entry of new producers into this system is a gradual process that is a consequence of the course of the investment. Therefore, we are not yet dealing with the maximum declared energy production by all producers who have won the previous auctions. This applies primarily to large wind farms – explains Rafał Gawin, President of the Energy Regulatory Office.
