Summary of TGE’s activities in February 2020

The volume of electricity trading on TGE in February 2020 was 23,183,082 MWh, which means an increase of 41.1 percent. compared to February 2019. This is the highest total trading volume ever on the TGE electricity market in February. It is also more than in the record-breaking month of the first half of the year – March 2018 (20 457 571 MWh). The Commodity Derivatives Market (RTT) increased by 47.6 percent y / y, to volume 20 351 386 MWh. Thus, for the first time in the history of the TGE futures market, 20 TWh of monthly electricity trading was exceeded in the first half of the year. Trading volume on the spot market increased by 7.1% y / y to the level of 2 831 696 MWh. Turnover on the Day-Ahead Market amounted to 2 759 556 MWh (increase by 4.5% y / y), while on the Intraday Market 72 72 MWh (22-fold increase y / y).

The volume of trading in property rights for electricity generated in renewable energy amounted to 2,400,864 MWh in February.

Trade in Guarantees of Origin for electricity generated in RES amounted to 1 624 211 MWh.

At the end of February this year 77 companies had the status of a member on the Commodity Market (RTG). In the Register of Certificates of Origin kept by the Polish Power Exchange as at February 29, 2020, 3901 entities were members of the register. Currently 650 entities have the status of a member of the Guarantee of Origin Register.
