Renewable energy is catching up with coal in terms of costs

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) summarized the latest trends regarding renewable energy sources and their place on the energy map of the world. The summary shows, among others, that energy costs from RES are falling very quickly. The agency expects that by 2020 the energy from renewable sources will be price competitive against the electricity generated in conventional power plants.
