Electromoblinicity as a topic of the meeting in the Ministry of Energy

On 10 May 2019, the Ministry of Energy (ME) held a meeting with representatives of local government units regarding the obligations imposed by the Electromobility and Alternative Fuels Act. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Energy Tadeusz Skobel.

During the meeting, representatives of local government units of representatives of their experience in the field of introducing electric and natural gas-powered vehicles to the fleet of vehicles designed to perform public tasks. The event was accompanied by a debate on the opportunities and threats resulting from the implementation of this obligation. It is worth recalling that Art. 68 par. 3 of the Act refers to self-governments, except for gminas and powiats whose population does not exceed 50 thousand.

Currently, the European Commission is working on preparing an amendment to Article 68 paragraph 3 of the Act on Electromobility and Alternative Fuels, according to which the requirement to ensure a 10% share of electric and natural gas-powered vehicles will be in force from 1 January 2021.
