On March 4, 2020, the European Commission presented a draft regulation establishing a framework for achieving climate neutrality, European Climate Law, which is the first legal act issued under the New Green Deal.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The presented project provides that the European Union as a whole is to achieve climate neutrality by 2050, while significantly raising ambitions by 2030. Instead of the previously adopted target of reducing CO2 emissions by 40%.<\/span> (compared to 1990), it was decided to set a “50 to 55 percent” target.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Another important suggestion is the principle according to which the trajectory of reaching the goal in individual years by individual goals will be determined by the European Commission alone with the help of the so-called<\/span> delegated acts.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
