Report of Towarowa Gie\u0142da Energii and the law firm \u201cImpact of regulatory changes on the energy market in Poland.<\/span><\/span> A new market model?\u201d<\/span><\/span> contains an analysis of the regulatory mechanisms introduced in the energy markets due to the geopolitical situation, an assessment of their impact on the market itself and, in the future, a change in the market model.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Some of the conclusions of the report:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The current model of the electricity market should be maintained – liberalized and based on the developed principles (free competition in the field of electricity generation and trading, unbundling, TPA, the possibility of freely changing the supplier and setting the price for electricity using market mechanisms).<\/span><\/span> One of its elements should be the wholesale market, characterized by price transparency and predictability.<\/span><\/span> This market should be, as before, subject to appropriate control and independent supervision.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Direct interference in the market price-setting mechanism and indirect interference based on fiscal tools restrict the freedom of activity of professional participants of wholesale and retail markets, including producers.<\/span><\/span> Extending the period of validity of the current intervention instruments will be a factor holding back the development of the market and investments in the electricity sector.<\/span><\/span> These measures should be very limited in time.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
