The change to the RED directive was agreed in the trilogue.<\/span><\/span> The new regulations are to support the development of renewable energy in Europe.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The European Commission informs about the provisional agreement with the Parliament and the Council on the revision of the Renewable Energy Directive (RED) as part of the Fit for 55 legislation package, i.e. the goal of reducing carbon dioxide emissions by at least 55 percent by 2030.<\/span><\/span> The directive assumes an increase in the share of RES in the energy mix of the European Union by at least 40 percent compared to 32 percent before the revision.<\/span><\/span> This means the need to double the amount of renewable generation capacity in a decade.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The new version of the RED Directive is to facilitate the integration of RES, simplify administrative procedures, including permits, and promote renewable sources in the heating sector, setting, according to the Commission’s proposal, the target of 49 percent share of RES in the construction sector in 2030, and making the target 1.1<\/span><\/span> percentage increase in the share of RES in the heating sector per year in the member states, and the introduction of a new target of 2.1 percent of the annual increase in the share of RES in network generation of heat and cold.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
