On May 12 this year, the Parliamentary Committee for Environmental Protection, Natural Resources and Forestry supported<\/span><\/span> an amendment to the act on renewable energy sources, extending the deadlines under Art.<\/span><\/span> 184d of the act on renewable energy sources.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

According to the current wording of Art. 184d of the RES Act, grid connection agreements, not terminated until the effective date of the RES Act for the reasons referred to in Art. 191 paragraph. 1 or art. 7 sec. 2a point 2 of the Energy Law Act – in which the deadline for supplying electricity to the grid for the first time is before June 30, 2022, they remain in force until the date specified in the producer’s application for extension of this deadline, submitted to an energy company conducting business activity in in the field of transmission or distribution of electricity, provided that the deadline for supplying electricity to the grid for the first time, specified in this application, will not be later than June 30, 2022. At the same time, the energy company is obliged to extend the delivery date for the first time the first to the electricity network, as requested by the producer, within 30 days from the date of such request.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Pursuant to the parliamentary amendment, which will be included in the government bill amending the act \u2013 Environmental Protection Law and certain other acts (Sejm paper no. 2181), the deadline of June 30, 2022 will be replaced with the deadline of July 16, 2024. <\/strong><\/p>\n

In practice, this could allow for an additional extension the period of validity of network connection agreements by more than two years.<\/strong><\/p>\n
