The European Commission conducts public consultations that precede the development of a new EU strategy dedicated to the development of the photovoltaic sector in the European Union. Any EU citizen may submit comments.

The new EU strategy for the development of photovoltaics, to be presented later this year, aims to fully use the potential of photovoltaic power plants in the context of achieving the objectives of the EU climate policy, defined inter alia as part of the European Green Deal.

To this end, EU officials want to identify barriers that stand in the way of a wider use of solar energy in the European Union. As a result, tools are to be proposed that will translate into acceleration of investments in photovoltaics in the EU.

The new strategy is also expected to focus on the increased use of components manufactured by the EU industry in PV systems. The implementation of the proposed solutions is to ensure that EU producers will provide the photovoltaic sector with a competitive offer compared to, for example, the Asian PV industry, which has dominated the global photovoltaic market in the last decade.

Comments in the consultations aimed at helping to develop the EU’s photovoltaic strategy will be accepted until April 12. They can be sent using the form available on the website of the European Commission by using this link.
