Currently, the Ministry of Climate is discussing with the industry about the biomethane support system. Two bidirectional models are considered. Initially, a feed-in tariff system for injecting biomethane into the network is considered, and at the next stage the ministry is considering an auction system associated with the RES system. In order to accelerate the work schedule, the Ministry established a working group for biomethane.
“We have already prepared a model of this mechanism and we are trying to prepare draft regulations so as to come up with this proposal as soon as possible. We are currently consulting these provisions with various entities. We hope that we will finish this work in the next few weeks and we will be able to go further” said Piotr Czopek, director of the RES department at the Ministry of Climate, during the DISE 2020 Congress. The support project is to be ready within a few weeks.
