The President of the Energy Regulatory Office considered the first applications under the first phase of support

The President of the Energy Regulatory Office issued the first three decisions on applications for granting the right to cover the negative balance for electricity in offshore wind farms (OWF).

In the first phase of the system, support is granted by way of an administrative decision issued by the President of the ERO and it may cover offshore wind farms with a total installed capacity of up to 5.9 GW. Decisions were issued for three projects and the following powers:

  • Elektrownia Wiatrowa Baltica-2 Sp. z o.o. – OWF electric installed capacity 1,498 MW,
  • Elektrownia Wiatrowa Baltica-3 Sp. z o.o. – OWF installed electric capacity 1045 MW,
  • Baltic Trade and Invest Sp. z o.o. – OWF installed electric capacity 350 MW.

A necessary condition for obtaining support will be the confirmation by the European Commission of compliance with the internal market of public aid granted to the producer for a given offshore project. Applications submitted by other manufacturers are still being considered.
