NOT ONLY NET-BILLING. FROM TODAY BIG CHANGES FOR PROSUMERS.

Today, the biggest changes in the rules of prosumer energy in Poland in six years are entering into force. Persons who will report the connection of micro-installations from today will be covered by the new billing system in the form of net-billing. This is the most important, but not the only, significant change that is being introduced on the prosumer market.

Today, the regulations included in the last amendment to the Act on renewable energy sources enter into force, which were adopted by the Sejm on October 29, 2021 and which introduce radical changes in the principles of prosumer energy operation in Poland.

Owners of new micro-installations, i.e. generating sources with a capacity not exceeding 50 kW, who managed to submit a connection application to the distribution network operator yesterday, will retain the right to settle the discounts in the current system. If the application submitted by yesterday is not correct and complete, but they complete it within 14 days, they will still retain the right to settle in the discount system. Failure to complete the application correctly within the prescribed period will mean the possibility of using only the new net-billing settlement system – as is the case with all prosumers who will report the connection starting from April 1.
