The Fund for Just Transformation is insufficient and this determines our failure to comply with this commitment – emphasized Deputy Minister of Funds and Regional Policy Waldemar Buda during the meeting of the Sejm Committee on the European Union.

In presenting the government’s position on the regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing the Fund for Just Transformation, the deputy minister reminded that Poland – as proposed – was allocated two billion euros for the implementation of the European Green Deal.

The Polish government is in favor of reducing CO2 emissions, but the financial solutions proposed in the regulation require further negotiations – emphasizes Waldemar Buda.

The European Commission has indicated that the funds will go to Silesia, to the eastern regions of Greater Poland and to the following provinces: Lublin, Łódź and Lesser Poland. The committee took note of the information provided on the Fair Transformation Fund and shared the government’s objections.
