Last month, almost 140 MW solar farms were built in our country. This is the second best monthly result in the history of the Polish solar market and twice as good as the average monthly increase in PV power in Poland in 2019.

According to information provided by the Polish Power Grids, the installed potential of solar farms in our country increased by 137.35 MW in April. This is the second best result in the history of the PV market in Poland to date.

The best in this respect was January 2020, when companies operating on the Polish solar market commissioned PV power plants with a capacity of 172.9 MW. 124 MW increased in February and 98.85 MW in March.

In total, 533.1 MW solar plants appeared in Poland in the first four months of this year. At the end of April, the domestic potential of PV increased to 1832.7 MW and if the upward trend continues, at the end of this month we will be able to talk about the total solar capacity in Poland close to or exceeding 2 GW.

Last year, according to Polish Power Grids, photovoltaic systems with a total capacity of almost 830 MW were created in our country. The capacity of solar farms in Poland in December 2019 increased by 113.9 MW. A month earlier, the increase recorded by PSE was 86.7 MW.

The highest growth of installed PV systems in PSE last month was recorded in July – it amounted to 116.1 MW, which could be due to the delay in reporting data for June, which was the last month for the launch of solar farms covered by support as a result of the June 2017 auction.

A year earlier, at the end of 2018, the capacity of all photovoltaic installations in our country was 471.4 MW, which meant an increase of 213.4 MW compared to the end of 2017 and 302.9 MW compared to the end of 2016.
